Pfutsero Government College celebrated its 42nd Freshers’ Day on August 9th, 2024 at the college auditorium, under the theme “Patience, Persistence, and Perseverance.” Shri Veyielo Doulo, Director of Tourism, Government of Nagaland graced the occasion as guest speaker. In his address, he encouraged the students to make their families, teachers, and community proud by achieving their personal goals.
Mr. Doulo emphasized the role of tourism as a means of self-expression and promotion. He urged the students to use their smartphones to capture and share images of their localities and surroundings to promote tourism. “I want you to be ambassadors of Nagaland tourism,” Mr. Doulo said.
Dr. Tialila, Principal of PGC, welcomed the students and advised them that the choices they make and the habits they pick during their college years will impact their entire lives. She stressed the importance of making the most of their college experience to become responsible citizens.
The first session was chaired by Petsho-ü Mero. Boche Mero, PGCSU Vice President delivered the welcome address. Later, in the second session, Mr. Melute Tepfo and Miss Kacheu Puro were crowned as Mr and Miss Freshers 2024, respectively.
