Pfutsero Government College has expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Higher Education, Government of Nagaland, for the allotment of a new college bus. The bus, flagged off on July 2 at the Directorate of Higher Education, Kohima, marks a significant step towards strengthening student support services and improving access to higher education. The bus was flagged off by Ms. Sarita Yadav, Secretary, Higher and Technical Education, in the presence of Ms. V. Lovitoly Sema, Ex-officio Director of Higher Education, along with officers, staff members, and representatives of the beneficiary colleges. Pfutsero Government College and Sao Chang College, Tuensang, were the two institutions selected to receive the new buses. The college sincerely thanks the Government of Nagaland, particularly the Department of Higher Education, for recognizing the long-standing transportation needs of its students. The college also acknowledges with deep appreciation the continued support of Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education and Tourism, Mr. Temjen Imna Along, for their continued support towards strengthening higher education infrastructure in the State. For many years, the need for a college bus has long been felt by the students and the institution. A large number of students commute daily from villages and localities situated far from the college, including Rukizu and Pfutseromi Village. The new bus is expected to significantly ease their daily commute, improve punctuality and attendance, reduce transportation expenses, and provide a safer and more dependable means of travel. In addition to facilitating daily commuting, the bus will enhance students’ participation in academic programmes, educational tours, sports, cultural events, extension activities, and other co-curricular engagements. It represents an important investment in student welfare and reflects the Government’s commitment to making quality higher education more accessible to young people across Nagaland. On behalf of the Governing Body, faculty, staff, students, and the entire college community, Pfutsero Government College extends its sincere appreciation to the Department of Higher Education and the Government of Nagaland for this valuable support. The college remains committed to making the best possible use of this facility in advancing its mission of providing inclusive, accessible, and quality higher education.
