The newly constructed Arts and Science Academic Blocks of Pfutsero Government College were inaugurated by Shri Temjen Imna Along, Hon’ble Minister for Higher Education & Tourism, Nagaland, on 4 June 2026 at the new college campus. The inauguration marked an important milestone in the development of the institution and its academic infrastructure.
After the inauguration at the new campus, the programme proceeded to the old campus for the formal function. The occasion was graced by Dr. Neisatuo Mero, MLA, Pfutsero Assembly Constituency, along with officials from the Higher Education Department, representatives of the NPWD (Education Division), faculty members, students, and members of the local community.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Vizolenuo Sophie, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology. It included the welcome address by Dr. Anungla Pongen, speeches by Dr. Neisatuo Mero, MLA, and Dr. K Hukato Swu, Joint Director (Planning & Budget), a technical report presented by the NPWD (Housing), Education Division, Kohima, a special number, the speech by the Special Guest, and the vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Neiko Ritse, Associate Professor, Department of Economics.
The technical report highlighted the planning, execution, and standards maintained during the construction of the new academic blocks. The newly established facilities are expected to strengthen the educational ecosystem of the region by improving learning spaces and supporting academic growth and innovation.
The Hon’ble Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening higher education infrastructure and creating better academic environments for students and scholars. The programme concluded with a luncheon, marking the successful completion of the inaugural event.
