The Research Committee of Pfutsero Government College organized One-Day Colloquium Series IV, titled “Voices of the Research,” on 4th September 2025 at the college seminar hall. The event provided a platform for faculty to present and discuss current research relevant to the state of Nagaland and higher education.
Ms. Grace Semp, Assistant Professor, chaired the program and set the tone for an engaging and scholarly day. The session began with introductory remarks, followed by a series of research paper presentations from the college’s academic staff.
Highlights of Paper Presentations
- “The Registration of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN): A Safeguard Policy to Protect Nagaland’s Indigenous Population”
Presented by Mr. Neiko Ritse (Associate Professor), this paper examined the purpose and implications of the RIIN policy as a legal safeguard for the indigenous communities in Nagaland. - “An Exploratory Study on the Use of ICT in Literature Pedagogy within Undergraduate Classrooms in Nagaland”
Presented by Mrs. Neipreu Mero (Assistant Professor), this paper explored innovative approaches for integrating information and communication technology in literature education to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. - “Amalgamation of the Pochury Naga Tribe”
Dr. K. Chukhapa (Assistant Professor) shared research into the history, identity, and socio-cultural integration of the Pochury Naga tribe, emphasizing the tribe’s unique contributions to the broader Naga society. - “The Second World War and the Japanese Army: Memories and Experiences of the Chakhesang Nagas”
Dr. Wetsou Medo (Assistant Professor) presented a historical analysis focused on the lived experiences of the Chakhesang Nagas during the Japanese military operations in the region in World War II.
After the presentations, an interactive session engaged faculty and participants in discussion, allowing for questions, feedback, and further exchange of insights related to the research topics.
The event concluded with a formal remark by Ms. Tethuvina Nukhu, Assistant Professor, who summarized the day’s proceedings and thanked all contributors for enriching the research culture of the college. The colloquium reflected the ongoing commitment of Pfutsero Government College to foster academic inquiry and dialogue among faculty and students
