Pfutsero Government College organized an Orientation Programme for the newly admitted BA 1st Semester students on 1 July 2026 at the College Auditorium. The programme commenced at 10:30 a.m. with Mr. Chothazo Nienu, Assistant Professor, chairing the session.
The programme began with a warm Welcome Address delivered by Dr. Anungla Pongener, Principal, who extended her greetings to the freshers and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunities available at the college. She emphasized the importance of discipline, academic excellence, and active participation in co-curricular activities.
This was followed by a session on Academic Affairs by Mr. Neichupe Kapfo, Vice-Principal, who briefed the students on the academic regulations, attendance requirements, examination system, and other important aspects of college life.
Dr. Thungdemo Yanthan, IQAC Co-ordinator, addressed the students on the various Co-curricular Activities available in the college and encouraged them to participate actively for their overall personality development.
An Awareness and Sensitization session was conducted by representatives of the Anti-Ragging Committee, National Service Scheme (NSS), and the Anti-Sexual Harassment Committee. Students were also briefed on proper etiquette and other essential guidelines to ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus environment.
The programme also included the Introduction of the Heads of Departments, allowing the freshers to become acquainted with the faculty members and the academic departments. Following the common session, the students attended Department-wise Orientation Sessions, where they received detailed information about their respective departments, curriculum, and academic expectations.
The Orientation Programme concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from the newly admitted students. The programme served as an effective platform to familiarize the freshers with the college’s academic environment, rules, facilities, and opportunities, helping them begin their academic journey with confidence and clarity.
