PGC Celebrates 43rd Literary Day

Pfutsero Government College celebrated its 43rd Literary Day under the banner of Meliorian Fest on 6 March 2026 at the college auditorium. The event was organised with the theme “Honouring Roots, Awakening Future.” The programme brought together students and faculty members in a vibrant celebration of literature, creativity, and cultural expression.

The first session of the programme began at 10:00 AM with Mr. Jete Ritse as the chairperson. The invocation was delivered by Ms. Veneiku-ü Tsuzuh, followed by a welcome note from Ms. Menute-ü Khupfu, Assistant Magazine and Literary Secretary of PGCSU. Greetings were also shared by Ms. Vesatoliü Tenenu, Assistant Professor, Department of English.

The highlight of the session was a speech by the guest speaker Neichupe Kapfo, Vice Principal of the college, who encouraged students to nurture creativity and uphold literary traditions while preparing for the future. A special presentation was also performed by Mr. Rekhute Wetsah, and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Petsho-ü Mero, General Secretary of PGCSU. The session ended with the singing of the college anthem followed by refreshments.

The second session, which commenced at 12:00 noon, featured a series of literary and creative competitions including debate, essay writing, sketching, slam poetry, photography, quartet, and skit. Students actively participated in the events, showcasing their talents and enthusiasm.

The Literary Day celebration provided a platform for students to express their creativity and strengthen their appreciation for literature and the arts, making the Meliorian Fest a memorable occasion for the college community.
