The Department of Political Science, Pfutsero Government College, successfully organized a seminar on the theme “Political Science as a Pathway for Career and Civil Services” at the college Seminar Hall on 20th March, 2026.
The programme was graced by Shri Vedezo Nienu, Secretariat Assistant and Proprietor of Mavericks Coaching Institute, Kohima, as the resource person. He delivered an insightful lecture highlighting the importance of political science in shaping careers, particularly in the field of civil services. He encouraged students to develop a strong foundation in the subject, stay updated with current affairs, and cultivate discipline and perseverance for competitive examinations.
The event was chaired by Zhovi Dukru. The welcome address was delivered by Vekhosalu, Head of the Department of Political Science, who emphasized the relevance of the seminar in guiding students toward meaningful career choices. A special number was presented by Cunulu Puro, adding a cultural touch to the programme.
During his session, Shri Nienu shared practical strategies for civil service preparation and motivated students to remain focused on their goals despite challenges. The interactive session that followed allowed students to clarify doubts and gain valuable insights into examination techniques and career planning.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Sakho Tunyi, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, faculty members, and students for their active participation. The event ended with light refreshments.
