Women Cell, Pfutsero Government College in commemoration of International Women’s Day organised a first of its kind 5K Uphill Mekhela Run on 8th March 2025 in collaboration with the Red Cross Pfutsero Branch, Innovations Kohima & Glory Peak Shuttlers.
The run was flagged off by Dr. Tialila, Principal at Razhielu early in the morning with more than a hundred enthusiatic participants vying to reach the finish line, Peak of Hope.
A celebration programme was held at the Multi-Purpose Indoor Stadium, Pfutsero with Vishü Rita Krocha, Poet, Journalist & Publisher as the Special Guest under the theme “Accelerate Action.”
The prizes and trophies for the run was sponsored by Innovations Kohima.
The Red Cross members assisted the run along with their medical team and ambulance. They also provided refreshment and distributed sanitary pads and toiletries to the girls.
The support and hearty treat from the male colleagues made the women’s day celebration more meaningful.
The joyous 5K Uphill Mekhela Run celebration concluded with much vigour and determination to make it an annual event.
