Introduction
The department of History since its inception in 1982 has been offering general course. With the gradual increase in the enrollment of students, the need for honour course was necessitated and the N.U granted the permission of the honours course in 2000 which was offered from the academic session 2004.
The department produced the first batch of honours graduates in the year 2008. Since then the department have produced more than 40 graduates to date.(2017) Many of them have achieved success and are well placed in the Govt. and private sectors while some are into research field.
