PFUTSERO GOVERNMENT COLLEGE TEACHERS’ ASSOCIATION (PGCTA)

PGCTA was formed in the year 2009. The Association works within the framework provided by the All Nagaland Government College Teachers Association (ANGCTA). The PGCTA is affiliated to the All India Federation of University and College Teachers Organisation (AIFUCTO).

Constitution of PGCTA:

Preamble

We the teachers of Pfutsero Government College solemnly resolve to constitute ourselves into an Association; to promote the spirit of solidarity, integrity and welfare of the teachers; secure a healthy fraternity and understanding amongst ourselves and with other likeminded organization.

While upholding a dedicated faith in securing the best of overall College environment, we do hereby adopt, enact and give to ourselves this Constitution on this day the 19th October 2009.

Article 1

Name: The name of the Association shall be called “PFUTSERO GOVERNMENT COLLEGE TEACHERS’ ASSOCIATION”.

Article 2

Motto: The motto of the Association shall be “BOUND FOR A CAUSE/TOGETHER WE PROGRESS”.

Article 3

Membership:

1 – Every member of the teaching faculty of Pfutsero Government, by virtue of profession, is bound to become a bonafide member of the Association by paying a membership fee to be fixed from time to time.

2 – Loss of membership: Any member of the Association shall loss its membership on grounds of indiscipline and contempt of constitution by a simple majority of members present and voting.

Article 4

Quorum:

The Quorum of the Association as well as the Executive shall be formed by a simple majority.

Article 5

Tenure:

The tenure of the executives shall be for a period of 4 years.

Article 6

Association Executive:

The Association shall comprise of:

(i) President

(ii) General Secretary

(iii) Assistant General Secretary

(iv) Treasurer

Article 7

Powers and Functions:

President:

1 – Shall preside over meetings of the Association.

2 – Shall approve the resolutions of the Association.

3 – Shall co-ordinate the working of all the executive members.

General Secretary

1- Shall be responsible for all correspondences of the Association.

2 – Shall record and maintain all the minutes and proceedings of the Association.

3 – Shall convene meetings in consultation with the President.

Assistant General Secretary

1 – Shall officiate the General Secretary during his absence.

2 – Shall assist the General Secretary in all normal circumstances.

Treasurer

1 – Shall be the custodian of the Association’s fund.

2 – Shall record and maintain all income and expenditures of the Association.

Article 8

Amendments:

The Constitution is subject to amendments by ways of addition, deletion or modification as approved by a simple majority of members present and voting.
