Environmental Science Department holds health workshop at Pfutsero Govt College
The Department of Environmental Science, Pfutsero Government College, conducted a one-day workshop in collaboration with the Community Health Centre (CHC), Pfutsero, as part of the Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) on the theme “Know Your Health, Own Your Future.”
Addressing the students, the Teacher-in-Charge of the Department of Environmental Science emphasised the importance of mental well-being and urged students to make their health a priority. He noted that a healthy individual is key to a brighter future and encouraged students never to hesitate to seek medical assistance when required, describing health as one of the greatest investments an individual can make.
The second session comprised hands-on training conducted by a team of laboratory technicians and nurses from the CHC, Pfutsero. Students were introduced to blood-group identification and trained in the proper handling and reading of a blood pressure apparatus and glucometer.
A total of 43 SEC students actively participated in the workshop.
The Teacher-in-Charge expressed appreciation to the Principal, Dr. Anungla Pongener, for her keen interest in equipping students with practical skills, and to the college fraternity for its continued support. He also acknowledged the Community Health Centre, Pfutsero, for its continued cooperation and partnership with the college in organising such programmes.
