The Department of Political Science, Pfutsero Government College organised an educational visit for the 5th Semester students to witness the 9th Session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly on 1st September 2026. The visit was organised with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to the functioning of the state legislature and enabling them to understand the procedures, debates, and responsibilities involved in parliamentary democracy.
A total of 15 students accompanied by three teachers were given the opportunity to observe the proceedings. Witnessing the actual functioning of the House provided the students with a practical understanding of concepts that they had studied in their Political Science courses, such as legislative procedures, question hour, debates, motions, and the role of elected representatives. The visit encouraged the students to develop greater interest in politics, governance and legislative affairs. It was an important learning opportunity that will remain a memorable part of their academic journey.
