AWARENESS PROGRAM ON HIV/AIDS AND BLOOD DONATION, PFUTSERO GOVERNMENT COLLEGE

An awareness program on HIV/AIDS and Blood Donation was organized by the Red Ribbon Committee, Pfutsero Government College on 16th September 2023 with Dr. Vepfuhu Kezo, MD (General Medicine), Medical Officer, CHC Pfutsero as the resource speaker. In the first session, the resource speaker gave a talk on the topic “Awareness on HIV/AIDS & Drug Abuse” where he highlighted on the symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, prognosis and prevention of HIV/AIDS; and the availability of ICTC facility at CHC, Pfutsero . The resource speaker gave an insightful presentation on the Adolescent Substance Misuse and the factors that protect adolescents from substance misuse.

In the second session on “Benefits of Blood Donation” the resource speaker enlightened the participants on the eligibility and criteria for blood donation and the importance of blood donation.
Free blood grouping and ICTC service was provided to the students and faculty of PGC after the program.
The program was chaired by Wetsou Medo, Assistant Professor, Department of History and Megosieno Mor, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology as the moderator. A special number was presented by the PGCSU executives. Welcome address and vote of thanks were delivered by Wepekhro Wetsah, Assistant Professor & IQAC Coordinator and Khrieneikuo Zumu, HOD, Department of Sociology respectively.
